Saturday, October 30, 2004 Sony PSP
If the pricing in Japan is any indication, Sony PSP could enter US market at $199. This is exciting news. Gaming has such a huge cult-following (PS2 alone has "tens of millions of customers") that Sony could wipe the competition away.
Check the feature-list:
. WiFi connectivity (link up to 16 handhelds together for network gaming) based on 802.11b
. IrDA, USB2.0, AV in/out, Stereo headphone out
. 4-6 hours battery life for game play and 4-5 hours for movies
. Not just ATRAC support, MP3 finds approval!
. Uses 1.8GB Universal Media Discs (for gaming, and possibly movies)
A big-miss > hard-disk. [ PMPs heave a collective sigh of relief ]
