X-Prize Won

October 4, 1957 - Soviet Union scripted history (and a fierce rivalry with the US) by hurtling Sputnik into Space. Today, 47 years since, SpaceShipOne recreated such magic by flying into space, for the second time within 14 days. The first private-funded (Paul Allen) effort at that.
