Supersub - no veggie delight, this

Headingley not just showcased England's triumph over the Aussies but also the beginning of cricket's makeover. At the end of the day, the two that made into cricketing lexicon: Powerplay and Supersub.

Two blocks of 5 overs each, apart from a mandatory 10-over field-restricted opening block. Powerplay there. Supersub refers to extending the role of 12th man. Now he could bat, bowl or field as the captain requires him to. Specialists get a chance, I think.

How about time-outs (nba-style: fixed in number and time) instead of the umpteen unofficial team meetings during the game? Could save Ganguly some money.

> Inspire a whole new generation [did he play really?]

> New rules, as seen at Headingley.

If a pixel were to see and interpret things as I do, and should it express, with a dose of my thoughts and afterthoughts; the flavor of such a talk should be close to one that you find on this page. And yes, cricket being my favorite sport, dont be surprised to find one too many related terms. Pad up is one such!
