Sania defeats Nadia (6-2, 6-1), Nadia was ranked 8th. This will do lot of good to her!
Atlast one girl from India to watch playing tennis.

Wow! Thats a big margin. She's having a fantastic time. With that, think she should be into the Top50.

Yup, she is now in 47th :)
But she lost her next match against Akiko Morigami (Japan).
2-6, 6-4, 4-6
I was there for the final set. She was up a service break at 4-3, after which Morigami took a medical timeout. When they came out of it, Sania was sloppy and Morigami didn’t make many mistakes. Morigami took the break back, held her serve and got another break to win the match. In spite of the loss, she played well for better part and her ground strokes were solid. Good Luck to her in the future, now that she is in the top 50.

Dei, you were there? Kalakku. I have heard debates on removing this timeout-thing. Players exploit this to the hilt. Anyway, good to know Sania had a fighting game.
