Will be heading to the Apple store this weekend to have a look at the Nano. More comments then.

For the phone part, it seems cool. But a tad late. With the Sony Ericsson walkman phone coming on the horizon, it might have been a bit late, given than the product was supposed to be launched a long time ago. Also, Motorola's notorious phone performance might hinder the adoption of the phone. Then again, the RAZR is a blockbuster and the iPod is a brand icon. Cant really fail with such a combo.

Yup, got to touch-feel nano.

After a bunch of mass-market devices, Moto has turned the corner, I guess.

I don't understand what is so special about the Airplane mode. My 2-year old sanyo phone has that feature.

Went to the Apple store in Santa Monica but it was closed at 8:30pm :(

Motorola V330 is a very good phone. bought one for my dad recently. best thing I like about is the bluetooth sync with my powerbook and easy transfer of contacts/calendar/photos.

The nano looks good but not sure if itll sell as much as the Pod and the Mini. Already too many people have the devices and might not feel compelled to buy yet another. The stores are expected to have shipments by the end of the week. So Ill check it out over the weekend.

Manoj
Saran was complaining about his V330. I have other friends who have sworn off V300 and V330 due to bad UI and average voice quality. You seem to like the unit a lot. Apart from the Bluetooth stuff, how is the voice quality and reception?

Manoj,
curious here...does your Sanyo phone play songs (or any other function but cellular) while in airplane mode?

Going by the review that I had updated this post with, nano could be a step beyond the current crop.

On V330, considering the demography that it is targeted at, bluetooth functionality may go unexplored. But if it satisfies on a basic feature like "static-free calls" (as Saran would put it) it has made its mark.

The voice quality on V330 has been pretty good so far. T-Mobile coverage sucks big time but I did not have a choice because they were the only one with a decent prepaid plan.

Pradeep, I can play games in airplane mode. It doesn't have a mp3 player but I guess I can download a Java-based mp3 player app.

One word for Ipod Nano - Gorgeous.

I'm returning my zen sleek and getting this one.

Manoj, that answers it. Didnt know of the feature before.

Prasad, did you try Nano?
[short life for Zen huh? ;)]

By Blogger pradeep, at 7:31 PM

Pradeep, not yet.

One bummer with zen is the lack of audiobook support. wtf?

Q | In a second test, I loaded the entire 16-hour unabridged audio version of "The Da Vinci Code" onto my test four-gigabyte nano and still had room left over for 1,128 songs, plus my 24 photos, a couple of podcast episodes and about 50 contacts copied from my computer's address book | Q

You are safe with a nano!

Thanks Prasad. iPod's U2 version (black) was cool when seen live. Nano Black (in pic) looks great.

iPod Nano is it. I mean, if you thought the original Pod and the Mini and the Shuffle are cool, the nano is just uber. No other device I have seen can even come close to this. Everytime you think Apple has hit the zenith, they prove you wrong and how!

Take a look at your friendly neighbourhood Apple store and you'll see.

Yep, i got mine this weekend and I showed it to some of my coworkers here, they just couldn't believe how tiny and cool it is...

Appadi poadu!

As a complete opposite to the excellent reviews to the Nano, the ROKR has been universally panned.
