TiVo time-shifts Television while Slingbox place-shifts. For the uninitiated,
"Slingbox gives you full control of your home TV and digital recorder even if you are thousands of miles away. You can change channels, use the program guide, and perform any action on the menus of your TV or recorder just as if you were sitting in front of your set. The home TV doesn't even have to be on at the time."
This is late news, yes, but what has prompted me to drop a line about Slingbox here is the fact that the gadget (ranked among Time's Best Inventions of 2005) has been completely developed in Bangalore, India. News to me.
"The product, which is built around a Texas Instruments signal processing chip and was developed in about 12 months, by the 20-strong Indian team, has become one of the biggest online sellers on the Amazon.com website."

If a pixel were to see and interpret things as I do, and should it express, with a dose of my thoughts and afterthoughts; the flavor of such a talk should be close to one that you find on this page. And yes, cricket being my favorite sport, dont be surprised to find one too many related terms. Pad up is one such!
